Blood Cancer Registrars (Temporary - Minimum one year contract)

Applications are invited for two Blood Cancer Registrars who will be employed by the National Cancer Registry to support the Blood Cancer Network Ireland (BCNI) project. The post-holders will: establish procedures within hospitals to identify newly diagnosed blood cancer cases; collect and code (using ICD-O coding standards) patient, tumour and treatment-related information in the BCNI designated areas.

The successful candidates must have a medical, nursing, allied health services or health sciences qualification to a National Framework Qualification (NFQ) minimum level 7 (or comparable registered nursing qualification) with at least 1 year post qualification experience in their field and/or a minimum of 2 years medical coding experience. Good comprehension of medical terminology and knowledge of anatomy and physiology is required. Proficiency in the use of personal computers for data entry, MS Outlook, MS Word including file management and electronic communications. A full clean driving licence and own transport is essential.

Salary: This will be in accordance with Department of Health grade IV: €27,020-€44,330

Routine travel to other hospitals will be required
