NCRI shortlisted for eGovernment award in Open Data category
The National Cancer Registry of Ireland (NCRI) is proud to announce that our newly launched website www.ncri.ie , has been shortlisted for the prestigious eGovernment Awards 2025 in the Open Data category. This recognition underscores our enduring commitment to transparency and accessibility in sharing vital cancer data with the public.
Since its inception, the NCRI has aimed to provide comprehensive and reliable information about cancer in Ireland. Our new website, created with our service provider Annertech, is designed not only to present this information clearly but also to offer an open-data platform where researchers, healthcare professionals, and the public can access valuable insights into cancer trends and statistics.
The eGovernment Awards celebrate innovative projects that enhance the delivery of public services through technology. Being shortlisted highlights the NCRI's dedication to improving public health outcomes by making data available for analysis and decision-making.
"We are thrilled to be recognised in the Open Data category," said Prof Deirdre Murray, Director of the NCRI. "This nomination reflects our ongoing efforts to ensure that our data is accessible and useful to everyone. We believe that open data can empower individuals and health care orgainisations to make informed health choices."
The winners of the eGovernment Awards will be announced at a formal ceremony later this year. For further details about the eGovernment Awards, visit their official website.
