Cancer Trends - Hodgkin's lymphoma

In the latest trends report, published today by the National Cancer Registry, it is shown that an average of 101 cases of Hodgkins lymphoma (HL) are diagnosed per year in Ireland. Representing less than 1% of all invasive cancers diagnosed in Ireland, it is most commonly diagnosed in adolescents and young adults aged under 35.  Although there has been a gradual increase in incidence of HL over time, the number of deaths from this disease have declined substantially over the last 50 years and currently there are less than 20 deaths from HL in Ireland per year.
