Biography: 

Maria trained as a biomedical scientist and worked for a number of years with the Medical Research Council and NHS in London. Her work at the Registry spans the disciplines of Information Technology and Epidemiology, where she is primarily responsible for management and administration of the Microsoft SQL Server RDBMS used to store and manipulate cancer registry data. Maria has a particular interest in the use of large (administrative) datasets to facilitate epidemiological research and holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of Limerick, an MSc in Epidemiology from The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and an MSc in Information Systems Design from the University of Westminster.
