In November 2007, the Health Information and Quality Authority agreed to carry out a health technology assessment (HTA) of a population-based colorectal cancer screening programme in Ireland in response to a request by the National Cancer Screening Service (NCSS) Board. This HTA was led by the National Cancer Registry.
