National PROMs (Patient Reported Outcome Measures) Summit 2014

Two researchers from the National Cancer Registry Ireland are presenting at the National Patient Reported Outcomes Measures Summit in London this week.

The National PROMs (Patient Reported Outcome Measures) Summit 2014 is taking place at the Hallam Conference Centre, London on Wednesday 3rd December. Two researchers from the National Cancer Registry Ireland will be presenting results from the All-Ireland PiCTure (Prostate Cancer Treatment, your experience) Study as part of this conference.

Mr Eamonn O’Leary will be describing the psychometric properties of a prostate cancer-specific health-related quality of life instrument among prostate cancer survivors. Dr Frances Drummond will present findings on the effect of primary prostate cancer treatments on the symptom burden, functional status and global health-related quality of life of short- and long-term prostate cancer survivors.

The conference will encompass discussion about whether PROMs can be used to make decisions about individual patients, the National Policy on Outcomes and Best Practice in the NHS England and masterclasses for attendees on a number of issues relevant to Patient Reported Outcome Measures.
