The registry has produced an infographic on cervical cancer in Ireland to support European cervical cancer prevention week 2015.
For European cervical cancer prevention week 2015 (25th - 31st January), we have produced an infographic about cervical cancer in Ireland. Cervical cancer is the 7th most common cancer diagnosed in women in Ireland. However, the good news is that most cervical cancers are preventable. The aim of this prevention week is to educate women across Europe on cervical cancer prevention and encourage them to attend for regular cervical screening. CervicalCheck, the national cervical screening programme, are encouraging women to call Freephone 1800 45 45 55 to receive a free 'Pearl of Wisdom' pin, the symbol of the European cervical cancer prevention campaign. Women are asked to wear or share their Pearl of Wisdom with female friends, colleagues and family. For more information about European cervical cancer prevention week, please see www.cervicalcheck.ie or www.ecca.info.
