Bar chart of survival by year for all cancers

The latest updates on survival of Irish cancer patients are now available here, based on over 250,000 Irish cancer patients diagnosed between 1994 and 2011, followed up to the end of 2012. Net survival up to five years (survival from the disease of interest having controlled for other possible causes of death by comparison with the general population) is presented for different diagnosis periods 1994 onwards, for cancers as a whole and for 27 major cancer types. Most cancers continue to show improvements in survival. Survival is also tabulated by age at diagnosis and, for recent cases, by sex, cancer stage, and HSE area of residence.
