Consulation on proposed minimum cancer dataset

The National Cancer Registry invites your views and recommendations on a proposed national cancer minimum dataset, as recommended by the National Cancer Strategy. The process of developing this dataset began with a national workshop last June, followed by the establishment of a multi-disciplinary Expert Group, which has now produced a draft dataset and wishes to carry out a wide consultation on this.

The Expert Group now wishes to carry out a wide consultation on the proposed dataset. It is important to emphasise that this dataset is not primarily intended for cancer registration, but is intended to serve a wide range of clinical, administrative and epidemiological functions. At this point we are interested in your views on the structure and content of the proposed dataset; consultation on possible sources of data and methods of collection will take place later. More detailed guidance on the points for which we are seeking advice can be viewed in the document - Click here to download

We would be grateful for the views of your organisation on the proposed dataset, which can be emailed to Harry Comber.

While our primary aim is to have the collective view of your organisation, we would also welcome individual feedback.

The closing date for comments is November 14th.
