The European Network of Cancer Registries (ENCR) meeting is taking place this week from 12-14th November, and a number of researchers from the Registry are taking part in presentations.

The European Network of Cancer Registries (ENCR) Scientific Meeting and General Assembly is taking place in Ispra, Italy this week from 12-14th November. The general theme of this year’s meeting is ‘Towards a harmonised cancer information system in Europe. Two researchers from the National Cancer Registry Ireland will be presenting. Dr Frances Drummond will be describing the role men take in prostate cancer treatment decision making, and the effect of this has on the health-related-quality-of-life of prostate cancer survivors. These are results from the Prostate Cancer Treatment, your experience (PiCTure) study. Dr Chris Brown will be describing the effect of active follow-up on survival estimates in a sample of cancer registry cases. Themes of this meeting include availability, completeness and reliability of information collected by registries and the impact of cancer registries on health policies.
