NCRI researchers to attend the All-Ireland Cancer Consortium (AICC) Conference 2015 in Belfast next week

Registry researchers will present on a diverse range of cancer research projects in oral and poster presentation format

Several Registry researchers will be presenting their work at the upcoming All-Ireland Cancer Consortium (AICC) Conference in Belfast. The multidisciplinary conference encompasses a diverse range of topics and themes in cancer research. There will be poster and oral presentations on research in cancer survivorship, cancer nursing, improving cancer outcomes, population health and cancer prevention, and future challenges in cancer research. Dr Comber, the Interim director of the Registry, will be giving a presentation related to cancer epidemiology and surveillance. Registry researchers will present on topics including interval breast cancer rates, soft tissue sarcomas and the psychological impact of cervical cancer screening. The conference brings together experts in the various cancer disciplines from both national and international organisations such as Trinity College Dublin, Queen’s University Belfast, the National Cancer Institute in the U.S and the WHO Europe, to name a few. This years’ conference, hosted by the Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology at Queen’s University Belfast, in conjunction with the Ireland-Northern Ireland-National Cancer Institute Consortium, is on at Queen’s University Belfast from the 10th – 13th May.
