Corporate services

Corporate services at NCRI supports operational efficiency by managing human resources, finance, communication, and administration functions essential for the organisation's success.

Corporate services play a fundamental role in supporting the operational efficiency and effectiveness of NCRI. This department encompasses a range of functions, including human resources, finance, communications, and administrative support, all of which are essential for the smooth running of the organisation.

By managing resources, facilitating communication, and ensuring compliance with regulations, corporate services enables the registry to focus on its core mission of collecting and analysing cancer data.

Additionally, it fosters a positive organisational culture and promotes professional development, ensuring that staff are equipped with the necessary skills and tools to deliver high-quality services and contribute to improved cancer outcomes.

Funding

NCRI’s core expenditure requirements are funded by the Department of Health. There are agreed procedures in place governing the release of funds to the organisation.

From time to time, NCRI enters agreements with other agencies whereby these agencies will fund the associated costs of delivery to specified project and research objectives. The funding, billing, and reporting arrangements are specified in the relevant agreements.

Procurement

NCRI adheres to effective, strategic and professional procurement methods that comply with all relevant EU Directive and Government legislation and recommendations.

NCRI places great emphasis on accountability, efficiency, transparency and value for money. All procurement activity within NCRI adheres to the Government's “Public Procurement Guidelines Competitive Process” guidelines.

Prompt payment of accounts procedures

The National Cancer Registry is committed to making every effort to pay its suppliers promptly. In this regard suppliers can help by ensuring that they provide correct invoices, accurate bank account details and by ensuring that their Tax Clearance status with the Irish Revenue Commissioners is up to date.

Payment of invoices by the National Cancer Registry is governed by the Prompt Payment of Accounts Act 1997, as amended by the European Communities (Late Payment in Commercial Transactions S.I. No. 580 of 2012).

The NCRI's performance with regard to the prompt payment requirement is available to view in the documents below:
