The National Cancer Registry Ireland (NCRI) has been recognised as one of Ireland’s Best Workplaces for Health & Wellbeing™ 2026, marking the second year in a row the organisation has received this distinction.

The recognition reflects NCRI’s ongoing commitment to supporting the health, wellbeing and work–life balance of its staff, and is a testament to the positive workplace culture created across the organisation.

The Best Workplaces™ for Health & Wellbeing award celebrates organisations that consistently create supportive, inclusive and healthy workplace experiences, enabling employees to bring their whole selves to work and to maintain balance between their professional and personal lives. The recognition is based on staff feedback, gathered through an independently administered survey, with a strong focus on wellbeing‑related measures such as feeling supported, psychological safety and work–life balance.

This year’s results place NCRI among organisations setting a strong national standard for employee wellbeing, with consistently positive experiences reported by staff across key wellbeing indicators. These results stand in clear contrast to the average experience in Irish workplaces and highlight the impact of embedding wellbeing into everyday organisational practices.

Recognising our people and our Wellness Team

This recognition belongs to all NCRI staff, whose openness, engagement and support for one another continue to shape a positive and healthy working environment. In particular, the Registry wishes to acknowledge the work of the NCRI Wellness Team, whose commitment and initiative have played a central role in developing and sustaining wellbeing supports across the organisation.

From promoting physical and mental wellbeing initiatives to fostering connection and inclusion, the Wellness Team’s ongoing efforts have helped ensure that staff wellbeing remains a visible and valued priority at NCRI.

Linda King, NCRI HR Manager said

“This recognition is a reflection of our people and the culture we build together every day. I want to thank all NCRI staff, and especially our Wellness Team, for their energy, commitment and care in creating a supportive workplace where people can thrive.”

A continued commitment to wellbeing

While the Registry is proud of this achievement, it also recognises that wellbeing is an ongoing journey. NCRI remains committed to listening to staff, strengthening supports, and continuing to foster a workplace where wellbeing, respect and collaboration are part of everyday working life.
