Quality assurance
Quality assurance measures are implemented at every stage of the data journey, from when the data is imported into the system to the time a tumour is closed on the system.
Quality assurance measures are implemented at every stage of the data journey, from import of electronic data into the CRS, to tumour registration, to data extraction for analysis.
Validation checks occur as files are imported into system tables. Errors and inconsistencies are identified and corrected before further processing.
Incoming electronic records are monitored for trends over time and deviations from the expected numbers are investigated.
Checks are carried out when new tumours are created, and a further range of checks are carried out when a tumour is closed. Full details of these checks are available in NCRI's data dictionary.
